Title: 역대급 천재 랭커의 귀환
■ Background & Synopsis ■
The protagonist, Do-hyun, was a legendary ranker who maintained the #1 spot in the VR game Demlock, relying solely on his physical skills and innovative meta sense to achieve what others couldn’t.
However, the game’s gacha-based system—where even boss rewards depended on luck—led to widespread user dissatisfaction. Players began leaving en masse, and Demlock became nearly abandoned. Despite this, Do-hyun held the lonely top spot for three years until the game’s service was finally shut down.

Feeling bitter about his wasted years, Do-hyun began searching for a new game. That’s when he discovered that Demlock had been a prototype for testing feedback, and that a new VR game called God of Savior was being launched based on that feedback.
Determined to climb the rankings again, Do-hyun geared up to challenge the new game, but his plans were thwarted when he received a military enlistment notice. As he served in the army, God of Savior became a global phenomenon, boasting 300 million concurrent players.
Former rankers who had played alongside Do-hyun until Demlock’s closure had already become God of Savior’s top-ranking celebrities, enjoying fame and recognition.
After completing his 1 year and 6 months of military service, Do-hyun logs into God of Savior for the first time…

■ Personal Review ■
This was an incredibly entertaining gaming novel!
The protagonist’s pure skill is emphasized throughout the story. Despite his terrible luck with gacha draws for equipment and skills, he maintained an undisputed #1 ranking during Demlock. This adds a sense of believability to his later overpowered moments, grounding the narrative right from the start.
The premise of God of Savior launching as a sequel to Demlock, with 1.5 years of delayed entry due to Do-hyun’s military service, sets up an exciting underdog story. Watching him overcome this massive handicap with sheer skill kept me hooked.
The supporting cast, including companions and side characters who essentially serve as his “familiars,” adds charm and comedy. Not to mention the fan club turned cult—“Ka-shin-kyo” (Kaiser Faith), complete with its fanatic leader and hilarious betrayals—makes this a standout work in its genre.
As a game novel, this is highly recommended.

Comedy Highlights
The protagonist Kaiser being worshipped as a god by the cult-like Ka-shin-kyo fan club is pure comedic gold.
Especially moments like:
- “Harrington, how dare you betray us!”
- “We should’ve known when he was fervently praying at the 10 Guilds’ Conference, with his eyes sparkling the entire time!”
Or the scene where a masked man, wielding a bow in the form of a duke’s crest, fires a few arrows before respectfully praying to Kaiser after finishing his mission… 😂
This novel’s humor is top-tier. Absolutely loved it!
